The Internet Update process embedded in the 32-bit version of Instant Interest uses the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) to download updates from C&C Software’s FTP site to the user workstation. Using this feature requires that you receive a Customer ID from C&C Software and that your corporate firewall allow you to use FTP. If you receive an error after entering the Customer ID, other than an error message telling you that the Customer ID is not valid, the problem is the result of a firewall rule that does not allow you to use FTP. If this happens, your options are to:

• Have your IT staff modify the firewall rules to allow you to access ftp.candcsoftware.com using FTP.
• Contact C&C Software to have us continue to send you updates on CD.
