The IRS changed the due date for C Corporation returns from March 15 to April 15. This caused a ripple effect among other tax jurisdictions we track. As a result, this interim release contains changes to the due dates for the following jurisdictions:

This release reflects the following rate changes effective January 1, 2017:

• Alaska from 4.00% to 4.25%
  Note: Alaska also implemented a new elevated rate of 8.25% compounded quarterly for underpayments on oil and gas production.
• California from 3.00% to 4.00%

There are no updates for the fourth quarter of 2016. However, the following changes to go into effect January 1, 2017, have been published and are reflected in the program:

• Georgia from 12% to 6.5%
• Illinois from 3% to 4%
• Michigan from 4.25% to 4.4%
• Tennessee from 7.25% to 7.5%

• Alabama from 3% to 4%
• Arizona from 3% to 4%.

Added an option to allow users to opt out of receiving CDs and only using the Internet update feature, thereby saving shipping charges. This option will apply on new invoices only starting from the 2nd quarter of 2016 or whenever the user chooses to exercise the option, whichever is later. A pricing change for updates on network installations will also be implemented beginning with invoices issued for the 2nd quarter of 2016.

1. 1. Added a refund calculation method column to the rate file. Although the program previously supported calculating simple interest for refunds for the District of Columbia and Massachusetts vs. daily compounding for underpayments, the change makes this difference more evident on both the View Rates and Rate Maintenance panels. 1. Corrected Utah calculation to not use the rate at the time of the assessment for the entire interest calculation.
2. Added check box to Notification Date panel to allow non-entry of the field. By default the box is checked and the notification date field is enabled. If no notification has been received, uncheck the box, which will disable the notification date field.
3. Added code to improve diagnostics.
